Samsung Hints at End of OS Support for Galaxy Watch 4 Series with One UI 8 Watch?

Samsung finally unveiled the latest One UI 8 Watch, with a vision to offer more effective habits to the Galaxy audience that lead to a healthier lifestyle. Since the company has officially announced the Galaxy wearables eligible for the latest One UI 8 watch beta, it hints that the Galaxy Watch 4’s end of update support has arrived.
With the announcement of the arrival of One UI 8 Watch beta, which is scheduled to begin starting this month for a few eligible Galaxy watches, while the stable is set for the 2nd half of this year, Samsung has provided a slight signal that the Galaxy Watch 4 is standing on the edge of receiving any major software support further in the future, and that’s the end!
Samsung usually follows a commitment of software updates for its Galaxy watches, offering up to four major OSs, with three already distributed to the 4th generation wearables. Perhaps the Galaxy Watch 4 series will either receive its final major Wear OS update or not get it at all.
Considering the statement mentioned in the official note of One UI 8 Watch beta, Samsung appears to be neglecting the Galaxy Watch 4 series completely, not necessarily though, as the newest One UI 8 Watch will be released for the Galaxy Watch 5 series and higher Galaxy Watches.
At the same time, the company has not yet confirmed that the One UI 8 Watch that runs Wear OS 6 on top will not be released for the Galaxy Watch 4 owners.
Beyond this, the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic were launched back in 2021, making their hardware capabilities older since the official release note from Samsung’s side confirms that newly added features of One UI 8 Watch are currently only reserved for the newer generation Galaxy watches, such as the Galaxy Watch 7, Watch Ultra, and higher.
Thus, this probably hints that Watch 4 is on the verge of ending major OS support, while Samsung is also leaving a slight hope to provide further updates in the future.
