One UI 8 to bring the ability to create AI avatars for pets via Portrait Studio

One UI 8, Samsung’s next major OS for its Galaxy smartphones, is currently running in its beta testing phase on the Galaxy S25 series and is gradually moving closer to its official launch. Meanwhile, a latest report claims that the company is working on an AI-powered feature that will surely excite the pet owners.

Portrait Studio, a feature that has arrived with One UI 7, where the users can easily edit their portraits into a stylish avatar; however, so far, this feature can only detect the photos of humans and can create avatars of them. Now, with One UI 8, users will be able to create stunning avatars of their pets as well.

Yes! According to a recent report (via), a new internal build has just spotted on the Galaxy S25 Ultra running One UI 8, which suggests that users can upload the portrait photos of their pets, and at the same time, Galaxy AI will automatically start creating a cartoon like avatar by detecting basic features of the pets like their eyes, mouth, nose, ears and more.

Beyond this, the report further mentions that Samsung has not yet provided this capability in the public One UI 8 beta in the S25 models, and so the feature currently remains hidden in an internal test build.

Well, there’s still no confirmation when Samsung is supposed to be bringing One UI 8 stable version for its Galaxy devices but it is hoped that official One UI 8 will probably be making its way at the time of Galaxy Unpacked event, as the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 will be debuting with One UI 8, out of the box.
