Here’s How Long Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic Will Get Software Updates

Samsung successfully conducted its summer Galaxy Unpacked event, where the company not only unveiled its next generation, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, but the Galaxy Watch 8 series alongside the Galaxy Watch Ultra in Blue color also took center stage.

The latest smartwatches bear some of the most exciting features, but you might be curious to know how long the watches support software updates; here are the details.

At the event, Samsung launched its amazing smartwatches, the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic, while this time, the watch lineup was joined by the Galaxy Watch Ultra in new color as well. Now, what about the software update policy?

Usually, for a few years now, Samsung’s Galaxy watches have run One UI X Watch with Wear OS on top, replacing the company’s proprietary Tizen OS completely. The company has also upgraded its software update policy for smartwatches, offering them well-maintained software update support for 4 years.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic will get 4 years of  software updates

Therefore, the newest Galaxy Watch 8, Watch 8 Classic, and Galaxy Watch Ultra running Wear OS 6-based One UI 8 Watch also support a four-year software update policy, and hence, they are eligible to receive OS updates for up to four generations/years.

Well, all these smartwatches run the latest One UI 8 Watch, which is already uncovered by Samsung. The newest update apparently arrives with some new and exciting tools that are focused on improving sleep, heart health, fitness, and nutrition, providing you the most convenient user experience and peace of mind.

Beyond this, the latest version significantly brings features such as Bedtime Guidance, Vascular Load, Running Coach, and the Antioxidant Index feature, representing a shift towards a more personalized and preservative healthier lifestyle experience. However, these features will be limited for newer generation Galaxy watches, including Galaxy Watch 7, Watch Ultra, and more higher-end ones.
