Samsung has answered some questions about the One UI 8 Watch update for the Galaxy Watch4 and Watch4 Classic. They confirmed that even these older watches will get the important software update.
This clears up confusion that started when Samsung announced the One UI 8 Watch Beta Program. At that time, they said the beta was only for the Galaxy Watch5 and newer models. That made some Galaxy Watch4 owners worry they wouldn’t get the update they were waiting for.
Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic were the first smartwatches to be shipped with the Wear OS-based One UI Watch update, ditching Tizen OS. However, recent claims created confusion, and fans were mysteriously questioning whether the models are eligible to receive the latest One UI 8 Watch update.
The company seems to have a proper answer to this question now! Basically, a previous report apparently suggested that the Galaxy Watch 4 series is not eligible to receive the One UI 8 Watch update.
Perhaps this was due to the statement of Samsung stating that the newest One UI 8 Watch beta program will be available for the Galaxy Watch 5 series, followed by more newer generation models gradually, but the company doesn’t list the Galaxy Watch 4 lineup in the eligibility list, thus creating a mystery among Watch 4 owners worldwide.
Thankfully, according to a report, Samsung has now cleared all the confusion and officially announced that the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic models will apparently receive the latest Wear OS 6-based One UI 8 Watch update. Also, it is important to note that the fourth-generation watch models were launched in 2021 with Wear OS 3, and therefore, the Galaxy Watch 4 series will get its last major watch OS update in the form of One UI 8 Watch that will run Wear OS 6 on top.
Well, the latest One UI 8 Watch is already running in the beta stage for Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra owners. The newest version brought about a handful of significant features and upgrades that will drive watch owners crazy! The features most prominently include features focusing on health and wellness, such as Bedtime Guidance, Vascular Load, Running Coach, and Antioxidant Index.
