Samsung announced that it is looking forward to expanding the reach of its smart TV software, Tizen OS, by making it available to more brands; it aims to solidify its leadership in smart TV operating systems.
Samsung Electronics has efficiently expanded its Tizen OS Licensing Program, solidifying its leading legacy in the smart TV OS industry. Following the launch of Tizen OS 8.0, the program now includes noteworthy original design manufacturers (ODMs), gesturing strong global demand and marking a key milestone for the Tizen ecosystem.
Samsung took its official Newsroom to announce that Tizen OS will be embedded in new TVs from well-established brands in key markets, such as Europe, North & Latin America, and Australia. Apart from these regions, new additions include EKO and QBELL (Ayonz) in Australia and Europe, RCA (Kayve Groupo) in Mexico, RCA (Treasure Creek) in the US & Canada, and Axdia in Germany.
More brands are in the pipeline to join the second half of 2025 as Samsung continues to expand its strategic partnership into new markets.
The Korean tech giant is continuously upgrading its Tizen OS platform with more advanced features, for instance, smarter content discovery, Samsung TV Plus for free streaming channels, cloud gaming via Samsung Gaming Hub, and easy multi-device connection through SmartThings, to fulfill users demands.
Jooyoung Kim, Vice President at Samsung Electronics, stated, “This year, we are focused on expanding our licensing program and creating diverse collaboration strategies for our key partners. We are serious about growing our global partner network and enhancing the ecosystem. By offering expanded regional support, an enriched app ecosystem, and tailored marketing resources, we aim to deliver even greater value to consumers worldwide.”
