Galaxy Z Fold 7 Becomes Thinnest Book-Style Foldable Yet?

Samsung has just brought a new revolution to the foldable industry by debuting its ultra-slim Galaxy Z Fold 7 smartphone, which surpassed the world’s thinnest foldable phone in terms of slimness.

Last week, at the July Unpacked event, Samsung launched a bunch of foldable phones, including the Galaxy Z Fold 7. As per expectations, the device is the slimmest foldable phone ever in the Galaxy Z Fold family and even in the foldable market.

Previously, the Honor Magic V5 was the thinnest foldable phone in the world, but now Samsung leads the game as its newly launched Galaxy Z Fold 7 is thinner. A reliable tipster, @universeIce, shared a video post on X, revealing a side-by-side comparison with the Honor Magic V5 and Galaxy Z Fold 7. Fortunately, the comparison goes in favor of Samsung, as the demonstration proves that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is thinner than the Honor Magic V5

Honor claims that the Magic V5 measures 8.8 mm in profile when folded, which makes it just 0.1 mm thinner than the Galaxy Z Fold and even the Oppo Find N5, at least in terms of theory. But the game changes when the tipster shared a video that proves the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is thinner.

It’s an interesting question! How can the Chinese brand Honor even claim its Magic V5 is the world’s thinnest foldable when it is visibly thicker than the 8.9 mm Galaxy Z Fold 7? Although going through the deep inspection of the official Honor Magic V5 global landing page, it’s acknowledged that Honor used its dedicated measurement system, according to which it admits that the Magic V5 measures 8.8 mm.

Noticeably, regarding the 8.8 mm measurement, Honor stated that “it does not include the inner and outer screen protective films and the raised part of the camera.” After collecting all the facts regarding the measurement of Honor, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 comes out thinner than the Magic V5.
