Galaxy A17 5G Surfaces on Geekbench—Launch Seems Just Around the Corner

Samsung is anticipated to launch Galaxy A16’s successor, Galaxy A17 5G, which is now spotted on Geekbench, hinting at the near launch.

The company is actively working on expanding its mid-range Galaxy A-series this year, as it has already debuted a bunch of smartphones earlier this year under this series, including the Galaxy A26, Galaxy A36, and Galaxy A56.

Now it is looking forward to debuting the Galaxy A17 5G smartphones soon. In a few recent days, the device has already been spotted on several certifications, such as SGSFCC & BIS, and also has official web support in multiple countries.

Now, a tipster, Abhishek Yadav, on X, shared a post, revealing that the upcoming Galaxy A17 5G has now been spotted on Geekbench. According to the listing, the device is powered by the in-house Exynos 1380 chipset integrated with 6 GB of RAM, including an octa-core CPU with two high-performance Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.4 GHz and six power-efficient Cortex-A55 cores running at 2.0 GHz. The single-core of the device scored 942, whereas the multi-core scored 2137.

Previously, it was reported that the Galaxy A17 5G will feature Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) on its 50MP main camera; in case the report comes true, then it will be the first mid-range Galaxy smartphone to feature OIS. It is expected to feature a large AMOLED screen and have a 5000 mAh battery capacity.

Samsung has yet to reveal the official launch date, but the continuous spotting of the device on multiple certifications hints at a near launch. It remains to be seen exactly what new novelties the smartphone will bring.
