Galaxy S22 (Carrier-Locked) in the US Updated with July 2025 Security Patch

Earlier today, Verizon rolled out the July 2025 patch for a bunch of Galaxy devices, which includes the devices from the Galaxy Z and Galaxy S series, and even brought the update for the Galaxy Tablets. Now the Galaxy S22 Series has also joined the party but on another carrier.

The Galaxy S22 Series is receiving the July 2025 security update with the firmware version number S90xUSQS8FYF4. The update is available for carrier-locked US Cellular networks in the United States. The upgrade is a regular maintenance update, which doesn’t bring any visual changes.

The July 2025 security patch for the Galaxy devices came with several new changes that will internally impact the function of the devices to strengthen security. It is recommended to keep the devices updated regularly to stay safe against threats.

To update the device, you just need to go to the software update menu from the system settings. In case you haven’t received the update on your device yet, then you have to wait for some time.

Apart from these, the Galaxy S22 series is also eligible to get One UI 8, so if you are waiting to use new features or some incremental changes, then you have to wait for it. As far as availability is concerned, the update will be available for the device in the second phase of One UI 8 stable distribution, and there is very little chance that it could get the beta access.
