Breaking: Galaxy S26 Ultra Software Development Underway in the US

Samsung appears to be working on its next flagship series, the Galaxy S26, while the company has already started developing the latest firmware for the high-end Galaxy S26 Ultra.

While it’s already known that Samsung is undergoing the making of the next generation models, the Galaxy S26 series, now guess what! Some new signs surfaced online hinting that Samsung is already progressing the first-ever test software development for the Galaxy S26 Ultra in the US.

More specifically, the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s first test firmware carries the build number AYG8; at the same time, the test firmware holds the version number S948USQUOAYG8. It’s important to note that the firmware has been spotted in the US, suggesting that Samsung has already started developing the firmware for the Galaxy S26 series, which is supposed to be arriving next year.

On the other hand, according to previous leaks, the Samsung Galaxy S26 series is supposed to run Android 16-based One UI 8.5 out of the box; however, there is still no confirmation regarding which software OS will be featured in the next generation flagships.

As far as the launch timeline is concerned, if rumors are to be believed, the Galaxy S26 series might land at the beginning of 2026, if things fall in place, though. Also, the official statement from Samsung is still awaited; thus, it’s advised to not believe in any type of rumors, at least until Samsung confirms so.
