Samsung Tests One UI 8 on its budget-friendly smartphone Galaxy A06 5G

Samsung’s One UI 8 is currently running on the Galaxy S25 series, with the 3rd beta running the current S series models. Since the development is progressing impressively, another affordable smartphone has just spotted running the newest Android 16-based build on internal test servers.

It looks like Samsung has already started developing the latest Android 16-based One UI 8 version for the Galaxy A series devices as a recent report (via X) mentions that the Galaxy A06 5G units have just been spotted running One UI 8 version on Samsung’s internal test servers in different countries, including India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Brazil and Peru.

Specifically, the latest One UI 8 firmware for the Galaxy A06 carries the version number, A066MUBU3BYG6, suggesting that the company is passionately developing the newest version for all of its eligible Galaxy devices, and it’s possible that the new build is supposed to attain the stability stage as early as possible.

At the same time, as of now, the Galaxy S25 series alongside the newly-launched Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 are the only smartphones that are running the new One UI 8 version, while the S25 models have been testing One UI 8 beta 3 build. With this, Samsung has already moved forward with testing the newest version for more Galaxy devices on internal test servers.

However, Samsung is yet to provide an exact release timeline of the stable One UI 8 version, and it is going to be too early to predict any timeframe as the update is still under development. At the same time, by looking at the progress, which is quite impressive, hopefully, Samsung could release the One UI 8 stable version as soon as possible.
