Galaxy S27 Ultra Could Drop 3X Telephoto Lens in Favor of a Single Zoom Camera

Samsung is taking some big steps towards filtering some popular features without any hesitation, starting with the S-Pen, which is assumed to be a feature that the company could gradually drop from its future phones. Now we are talking about the unavailability of the 3X zoom camera in the Galaxy S27 Ultra devices.
Before jumping to the Galaxy S27, the next flagship device, the Galaxy S26, is supposed to bring the most anticipated camera setup on the market. According to the reports, the device could feature an improved 200MP main camera with its fresh and high-tech ISOCELL HP2+ sensor. Meanwhile, it will feature a 10MP 3X zoom camera and a 50MP ultrawide lens.
But now the Galaxy S27 Ultra is reportedly ditching the 3X telephoto lens. Without this sensor, the device will lose the capability to take quality photos at a near distance. This indicates that the company is focusing on advancing its periscope-style sensor, which could handle both sensor capabilities in one.
To make this happen, Samsung will introduce Sony’s 200MP 1-inch sensor, which could bring the capability to take photos of distinct objects and nearby objects without the need for an extra zoom sensor. However, currently, this is just a rumor, and Samsung has a lot of time to make a decision, and we hope that the Korean giant will focus on bringing the updates that take the user experience to a new level.
