Samsung’s newest foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, etched its name into being the slimmest and lightest book-style model. But, at the same time, guess what! The device has apparently proven itself to be the most durable and strongest ever.
JerryRigEverything, a YouTuber who is known for his keen interest in performing various durability tests for smartphones, has just taken the newest Galaxy Z Fold 7 model under his knife in order to severely test Samsung’s newly launched foldable, and the results were surprising.
Galaxy Z Fold 7 showed great results in the durability test:
To begin with, the YouTuber started off with a scratch resistance test, where the device stunningly withstood plastic scratches at a level two or three, glass scratches at level six, and sapphire screen smartphone scratches at a level eight or nine, and as a result, the phone passed the scratch test easily, as Samsung has used the Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, which suggested that the scratches seem normal for everyday usage.
However, coming to the inner screen, the inner screen looks very normal and is prone to even some scratches, leaving permanent marks, such as fingernails, on the inner screen surface. At the same time, you will be getting a free screen protector replacement within the first 12 months.
Then come the camera rings, which passJerry’s test, and thankfully, this time the camera rings don’t come off when pulling them severely out from the phone’s body, like it happened in the previous tests performed with the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
Next up is the dust resistance test. The bigger and solid particles of dust surprisingly caused any damage to neither the phone nor the hinge; however, if the phone is dropped on hard pebbles or rock, the inner screen will get damaged, but normal dust will not be getting inside the internal hinge.
Coming to the flame test, it took about 10 seconds to permanently burn the inner AMOLED screen, while the external screen that apparently uses the same display took nearly 15 seconds to leave a permanent burn mark.
Now comes the final and crucial one, the bend test. While Samsung says that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 can withstand 500,000 folds, which is stunning, Jerry severely bent the device horizontally and applied an equal amount of pressure on the rear panel that has the camera bumps, further bending the phone backward while the phone was open. The results were amazing, as there were no cracks in the screen, and the hinge didn’t pop out. It still folds closed and remains 100% functional.
Well, Samsung has indeed made its Galaxy Z Fold 7 with some exceptional durability and next-level strength, and this proves that the newest foldable’s structural stre
