Wait What! Samsung appears to be making a major rebranding in Galaxy S26 series

The Galaxy S series, Samsung’s flagship lineup, is considered the most significant one among the entire Galaxy ecosystem. Now, guess what! Surprisingly, Samsung is making a prominent shift in its S series models, beginning with the Galaxy S26 family, where the lineup will arrive with three smartphones, but not what fans thought of!

Get ready for an all-new “Pro” model in the Galaxy S26 series:

Samsung fans have been familiar with three models in the flagship lineup: the base, the Plus, and the Ultra. Meanwhile, a new report suggests that Samsung appears to be working on ditching the base one, replacing it with an all-new “Pro” model with the upcoming Galaxy S26 series, exclusively, as per Android Authority.

Basically, previous reports have already claimed that the “Plus” model will be removed from the Galaxy S26 series, and the three models were named as Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Edge, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. Now, a fresh report mentions that Samsung is apparently looking towards a major rebranding for its renowned S series.

One UI 8 internal firmware hints at the arrival of the Galaxy S26 Pro, replacing the vanilla model:

More specifically, an all-new One UI 8 internal build unhides a few code names for the smartphones, hinting that Samsung is perhaps ditching the base model in the Galaxy S26 series. Rather, Samsung’s upcoming flagship series is rebranded and will consist of three phones: Galaxy S26 ProGalaxy S26 Edge, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Well, the Galaxy S25 series was codenamed as Paradigm, with code numbers for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra being PA1, PA2, and PA3, respectively. At the same time, previously, the Galaxy S26 series’ codenames were pointed out as NP1, NP2, and NP3, where N stands for Next Paradigm. But in the latest One UI 8 internal firmware, the codes occurred as M1, M2, and M3, where M1 signifies the Galaxy S26, M2 the Galaxy S26 Edge, and M3 the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Therefore, in the Galaxy S26 series, the base model will be renamed to the Pro unit, the Plus one will be replaced with an Edge variant, and lastly, the Ultra device has been the top priority and remains unchanged and untouched, at least according to the above report.
