One UI 8 Update Moves Closer for Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Tab S6 Lite (2024)

Samsung’s progress for the Android 16-based One UI 8, its next-generation major OS designed for the Galaxy smartphones, is noticeably impressive. While the Galaxy S25 series is already testing the 4th beta, the company is expanding the internal testing for more eligible Galaxy models simultaneously behind closed doors. Now, two new tablets have just appeared on the Geekbench listings.
More specifically, the mid-tier Galaxy Tab S9 FE series alongside the budget-friendly Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024) have been spotted running Android 16 with One UI 8 on the Geekbench platform; reports say so.
The Geekbench listings for the Galaxy Tab S9 FE carry the SM-X516B model number, while the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite(2024) comes with the SM-P625 model number, suggesting that Samsung is already developing the latest One UI 8 version that will run Android 16 on top.

Not just these tablets; a bunch of Galaxy devices have already been tested for the latest One UI 8 version, with a few of them including the Galaxy S24, S23, S22, and other S series flagships, alongside other mid-tier Galaxy devices such as the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy Z series models.
Well, the newest Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 are the only folding phones to debut with the One UI 8 version out of the box, while the Galaxy S25 family is also testing the beta version at the same time. Seeing the rapid progress of One UI 8, it’s expected that Samsung could bring the stable version soon. However, the exact timeline is still not known; hopefully the update could arrive soon in the coming future.
