One UI 8 Enables Gemini AI Voice Commands on Galaxy Buds 3

Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 users, get ready for a more hands-free experience than ever before, as the buds are now compatible with the Gemini AI voice assistant via One UI 8.

Samsung launched the truly wireless Galaxy Buds 3 series, including two models, Galaxy Buds 3 and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, last year, without Gemini support and any built-in memory & firmware. However, a few months after the launch, the company confirmed that it is looking forward to offering a Gemini integration to the Galaxy Buds 3 with a future firmware update but didn’t mention the specific version. Now, Samsung clarified its plan to bring Gemini integration to the Galaxy Buds 3 via the One UI 8 update.

With the latest One UI 8, the wireless earbuds offer deeper integration with Gemini on connected smartphones and tablets. Currently, the feature is available for the Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro when connected to the newly launched Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, based on One UI 8.

In case the latest Galaxy foldable users are missing Gemini integration with their Galaxy Buds 3, they can upgrade their buds to the latest firmware. They can ensure the latest Buds firmware directly through the Galaxy Wearable mobile app. Now, Galaxy Buds 3 users with a paired Galaxy phone or tablet running on One UI 8 can easily interact with Gemini through their Galaxy Buds by picking the assistant via voice or touch controls, just by long pressing one of the earbuds.

Samsung has officially confirmed to expand the One UI 8 beta to more devices in September, which means that more Galaxy Buds 3 & Buds 3 Pro users will get access to Gemini in their earbuds starting next month.
