Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 start receiving August 2025 Security Update in the US

Samsung is currently working on dispatching the ongoing August 2025 security update to all of its Galaxy devices, and gradually, a bunch of models have already been enjoying the update so far. Meanwhile, it’s the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 time to get the update now!

While the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 owners are currently testing the latest Android 16-based One UI 8 Beta 1, at the same time, the company has started rolling out the August 2025 security update for the previous generation folding phones, and it is now available in the US on the Verizon network.

More specifically, the latest August patch for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 has been identified with the version numbers F956USQS2BYGB and F741USQS2BYGB, respectively. Currently, the update is available for the carrier-locked units, while it’s expected to reach more devices across the US shortly.

Also, as usual, Samsung’s monthly security patches are significantly meant to strengthen overall system security, and similarly, the August patch simply focuses on improving the device’s overall security and core functionality, rather than introducing new features and changes. It packs a host of fixes for all the safety-related issues and vulnerabilities to provide a more secure user experience, while also protecting the device against sophisticated threats.

Additionally, the update further adds stability to the system behavior and optimizes performance that eventually leads to a smoother, more stable, and more efficient functionality.

Well, as mentioned, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 models have just started testing the One UI 8 beta; thus, they get a perfect chance to experience all the newly added features and changes ahead of the official release.
