Samsung Electronics appears to be moving towards an all-new standard of OLED displays, as the recent report hints that the company is planning to incorporate next-generation displays in the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra.
It’s been quite some time since Samsung’s next-generation S flagships, the Galaxy S26 series, have been in the headlines.
Now, according to some of the latest industry sources, via tipster Jukan on X, Samsung Electronics is allegedly appealing to apply the newest Flex Magic Pixel technology in the forthcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra models, which are apparently scheduled to be released in 2026.
More specifically, the upcoming Galaxy S26 series has been renamed with the suffixes Pro, Edge, and Ultra, while for the first time, Samsung Display’s next-gen OLED panel, the Flex Magic Pixel, is supposed to be incorporated in the top-tier Galaxy S26 Ultra model only. It’s also reported that Samsung has already been developing the newest OLED display for a while now behind closed doors.
Basically, Samsung Display first introduced the newest Flex Magic Pixel display via the Mobile World Congress (MWC) event held last year. This new technology display apparently works by using AI power in order to control and adjust some specific viewing angles while protecting privacy, while also creating an effect without attaching an additional film for typically delivering stunning picture quality.
At the same time, Samsung’s Flex Magic Pixel display significantly uses a CoE (Color Filter on Encapsulation) technology, which apparently removes polarizers in OLED panels with a color filter. And the Galaxy S26 Ultra is supposed to be the first-ever smartphone to adopt the CoE mechanism.
Well, there’s still some time left for the Galaxy S26 series’ release, and if the report is to be believed, then Samsung will bring the latest Flex Magic Pixel display with the Galaxy S26 Ultra; however, the official confirmation still awaits.
