Android 16-based One UI 8 beta 5 just landed for the Galaxy S25 series; meanwhile, Samsung is further looking forward to expanding the reach of the August 2025 security update for the other Galaxy devices. Now, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6, alongside the Galaxy A26 and A25 units, are getting the update.
Currently, Samsung is rolling out the update in Europe, which will then be followed by more eligible regions over the coming weeks. First up, the folding phones, Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6, have started getting the August 2025 security update and are identified with the version numbers F956BXXS2BYGB and F741BXXS2BYGB, respectively.
In addition, the remaining A series models, the Galaxy A26 and Galaxy A25 units, are also receiving the same update, which bears the version numbers A266BXX54AYG9 and A256BXXS8CYG4, respectively.
According to Samsung’s August 2025 security patch details, the update is just a minor Android security update that, however, doesn’t bring any major features and changes; rather, it significantly focuses on improving overall system security and core functionality. The update brings fixes for the issues that were addressed in the previous versions to offer a more secure user experience, while also protecting the device against external threats.
In addition, the update further adds stability to the entire system behavior for more efficient functionality and brings certain performance optimizations to provide a smooth and stable experience to the users.
