Samsung has just detailed its latest Android security update bulletin, the September 2025 security update for all its eligible Galaxy devices; meanwhile, the company has ended support for a few models.
Indeed, Samsung’s software update policy has been incredible among other Android partners in the smartphone industry, etching its name across a few big names.
Basically, for years Samsung has been following a pattern of delivering updates to its Galaxy devices according to their dedicated software update policy, and thus, what has started will also have an end! At the same time, the model automatically stops sending updates once the device reaches its update deadline.
Samsung ended software support for Galaxy Note 20 & M21 (2021), while Galaxy A07 was added to the update list:
Similarly, right after releasing details of the newest September 2025 security patch, Samsung has clarified that it has finally ended the software support for the Galaxy Note 20 series, consisting of the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra, alongside Galaxy M21 (2021) models. Therefore, these devices will not be receiving any major OS or security updates in the future.
Not just this, Samsung has further changed the placement of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 models, as they have now shifted from the monthly to the quarterly security update list, which means they will be receiving updates once in every four years. Additionally, the newly launched device, the Galaxy A07, has just been added into the quarterly security update list.
Well, Samsung’s September 2025 security update primarily brings a lot of bug fixes for the Galaxy devices while also improving the device’s overall security and stability in order to offer a more secure user experience and even protect the device against potential threats.
