Samsung Health Adds Virtual Doctor, Drug Management and Fitness Features

Samsung is highly known for some exceptional yet significant changes, from its stunning hardware redesign to various major software innovations. With One UI making a major shift in the technology of the entire Galaxy ecosystem, Samsung has just announced a massive update for its Health app.

Since the newest update arrived for the Samsung Health app (as announced in an official press release), significantly bringing more advanced tools for quicker access at users’ fingertips, one of the major integrations is that users will now be able to get their hands on virtual physician sessions.

Virtual visit to a doctor, skipping the wait:

At times it becomes a great hustle when the health support or just a small course of advice from a doctor is instantly needed; meanwhile, it looks like Samsung is making it easier to have virtual consultancy with a doctor or even have a quick chat with them. This will be processed via the Samsung Health app, as the latest update will now allow users to meet a doctor when needed or sometimes even the same day.

Enhanced prescription management with Walgreens pharmacies:

Indeed, Samsung is not doing efforts all alone; the company has joined hands with HealthTap, an online service provider, in order to get things done. In addition, the update further brings the support for managing users’ prescribed medicines via a newly integrated system that is connected with Walgreens pharmacies. Also, users can easily get this in the Health Records section and can view their previous or present prescribed medicines issued by the pharmacy.

However, users will not be able to renew their prescription from the Samsung Health app, at least for now.

Various expert-based workout sessions:

Not just this, Samsung Health’s latest update also adds expert-based workout sessions via Samsung’s newest collaboration with iFIT, providing expert-guided workouts right at the user’s fingertips on their smartphones. This service offers various Pilates and high-intensity interval training sessions to recovery routines through videos that have been placed into different categories, such as seasonal recommendations and trending workouts.

Well, beginning from September 8th, the Samsung Health app will start receiving these features and will progressively reach all the users.

All in all, the combination of Samsung Galaxy Watches and the Health app looks promising. While it’s just the beginning, Samsung has just started to integrate new and exciting changes. It will perhaps add other innovative yet convenient features within the Samsung Health app, with the most recent one being the AI Health Coach, which is about to debut this year.
