Galaxy Z Fold 7 Demand Surges, Samsung Ramps Up Production

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is still in demand among Galaxy foldable fans, as it has sold out completely. Now the company has to speed up production to keep up with demand.

It’s been two months since Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Fold 7 alongside its sibling, the Galaxy Z Flip 7. A new report from TheElec revealed that Samsung has had to adjust its production plan for the recently launched Galaxy Z Fold 7.

Initially, Samsung strategized to produce 200,000 units of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 but has now raised the target to 260,000 units, as the device has sold out. In the first month after launch, the company shipped around 1.3 million units, which is the highest ever for the Fold series.

The growth continued in August with 430,000 units, exceeding the initial target by 100,000 units. These metrics clearly show that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is selling better than expected, forcing the company to consider raising its production target for two consecutive months.

Reportedly, the Korean tech giant is now aiming to ship a total of 6.1 million foldable devices this year, including the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy Z Flip FE, and even Galaxy Tri-Fold. It’s expected that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 could reach more than 2.4 million units in 2025. It remains to be seen exactly how Samsung will deal with the production task.

Currently, Samsung is looking forward to launching its first-ever tri-folding device, which is supposed to be called the Galaxy Tri-Fold, by the end of this year; however, the exact launch date is not clear yet.
