Samsung Display to supply OLED panels for Apple’s MacBook Pro

Samsung Display is now looking forward to beginning mass production of Apple MacBook OLED in Q2 2026. Recently, Apple widely introduced its latest iPhone 17 lineup and is now expected to launch its first OLED MacBook, which is supposed to be called the MacBook Pro, as early as the fourth quarter of next year.

A new report from TheElec revealed that Samsung Display is anticipated to supply OLED panels to Apple for the next-generation MacBook. According to the report, Samsung Display plans to mass-produce 14-inch MacBook OLED panels by the end of the second quarter of next year. Annual production is expected to be around 2 to 3 million units.

Samsung will use its 8th-generation IT OLED line to manufacture panels for Apple’s first OLED MacBook. Reportedly, the line is designed to produce 15,000 (15K) sheets per month based on 8th-generation glass substrates. It consists of two lines, each with a monthly production capacity of 7.5K sheets. Samsung will produce 10 million units of 14.3-inch OLED panels.

Noticeably, Apple’s MacBook OLED panels will be manufactured by Samsung Display using a 7.5K unit monthly production line, and it is not exclusive to Apple. A few years back, Samsung announced that it would invest 4.1 trillion won in the 8th generation in 2026, increasing the production volume to 20% of total sales.
