Android Auto indeed shines bright as a great driving companion service provided by Google for years; however, it’s more on a shaded side since it’s prone to various bugs and issues. Meanwhile, another problem just hit the platform that appears to be affecting the music playback.
Google constantly brings new features and upgrades for Android Auto, and a few of the most significant features are already in the pipeline, including the Light theme, Gemini integration, and more. But a new report certainly suggests that Android Auto is tied up with an issue.
A report by Android Authority stated that some users took it to the Reddit platform and shared a complaint regarding the service. They reported that due to a strange bug, the music playback on Android Auto is continuously stuttering and skipping when connected wirelessly. At the same time, this audio issue is occurring regardless of any specific brand’s device and perhaps can be related to the Google Maps or Waze app.
Specifically, a user who owns a Galaxy S23+ stated that everything went fine till August 27, but after that, while listening to the music, it automatically started skipping every 20 seconds. However, the user further noticed that the newest version for Google Maps (25.34.05.796159725) seems to have brought the bug, and another update for the app carrying version 25.35.00.798803015 looked to have solved the problem.
Unfortunately, another version for the Maps app followed a new update that carried version 25.36.02.800913331, apparently bringing the same audio issue back again.
At the same time, another user claimed that turning off the Maps and disabling the location tracking caused Android Auto’s audio to work perfectly fine. However, for now, neither Google has acknowledged the bug nor does there seem to be any fix for the issue, but until any fix arises, users have started shifting to the Bluetooth-based music streaming on Android Auto.
