Samsung’s mid-range smartphones surpassed Apple’s iPhone 15 in the global best-selling list during the second quarter of this year.
Transparently, Samsung and Apple are two tough competitors of each other and never miss any chance to poke the other. Meanwhile, a new report from CounterPoint Research revealed the top ten smartphone names that have sold out massively during Q2 2025.
Surprisingly, Samsung’s two mid-range smartphones, including the Galaxy A06 and Galaxy A16, are listed above Apple’s high-end iPhone 15 in the top ten global best-selling list.
According to the report, the iPhone 16 was the most sold smartphone in the global market during Q2 this year, while its siblings, the iPhone 16 Pro Max and iPhone 16 Pro, ranked second and third. Samsung’s mid-range devices, Galaxy A16 5G and Galaxy A06 4G, secured fourth and fifth place. The Galaxy A16 4G and the Galaxy S25 Ultra are in seventh and eighth positions. Noticeably, Apple’s flagship iPhone 15 is in tenth position, which is below its rival’s mid-range phones.

However, it seems that the popular segment (Galaxy A-series) continues to be a powerful “weapon” that helps Samsung maintain its global market share. The list suggests that the Galaxy S25 Ultra fell slightly, from 7th place in the first quarter to 8th place in the second quarter.
To maintain its leading legacy, Samsung has to implement strong strategies so that it can surpass its rival brands and secure the top position in the list in the future.
