One UI 8.5 Will Bring Ask Gemini and Ask Bixby Actions

Samsung is already working on its latest software version called the One UI 8.5, which is now anticipated to add Ask Gemini and Ask Bixby Action.

The Korean tech giant is leaning heavily on Google’s Material 3 design for its new menu and button layout. Apart from this, our colleague, SammyGuru, revealed a look at the new Modes and Routines UI within the Settings menu.

According to the report, Samsung is offering two new actions in Routines for One UI 8.5, including the Ask Bixby and Ask Gemini activities that let you pass a query to either of these smart assistants. This seems to be convenient, as it allows you to couple together actions and feed data to Bixby or Gemini to get an answer, even if coupled with something like Touch Macros in Samsung’s Routines+ app.

Both of these new Ask Bixby and Ask Gemini UIs are quite similar, as both offer a text box to enter a query with a prominent drop shadow. The notable difference between these menus is the way listing suggestions appear under the Ask Bixby text box.

Reportedly, the company suggests you try actions such as placing a call or turning on smart lights, while Bixby can read your Now Brief and memorize your parking spot. All of these tweaks suggest that Samsung’s upcoming One UI 8.5 will be more exciting compared to the One UI 8. It will be interesting to see, apart from these upgrades, what new AI features Samsung will offer to enhance the overall Galaxy UI ecosystem.
