Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is already on the way to knock on your door in January 2026, but ahead of its arrival, the key display upgrades are already confirmed & starting to blow in the market.
Following the previous Galaxy S-series launches, Samsung is supposed to launch the upcoming Galaxy S26 series sometime between January and February 2026. The lineup will include three variants: Pro, Edge, and Ultra.
Meanwhile, one of our reliable colleagues, ETNews, revealed that the Ultra variant of the series, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, will feature Samsung’s latest OLED material, the M14. If this happened, then this would be the first time the Korean firm is using this next-generation material in its smartphone, offering brighter displays, enhanced energy efficiency, and a longer lifespan compared to previous OLED panels.
Last year, it was rumored that the Galaxy S25 Ultra would debut with the advanced M14 OLED panel; however, that’s not the actual case since the last two generations of the series, including the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S25, used M13 OLEDmaterials. This means that using the M14 material will surely make the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra model stand out in terms of display performance compared to predecessors.
Notably, the news source claims that the othertwo models of the lineup, Galaxy S26 Pro and Galaxy S26 Edge, will continue using the older M13 materials.
The latest M14 OLED materials come from multiple suppliers, including DuPont, Universal Display (UDC), Duksan Neolux, Samsung SDI, and SFC, whereas other firms supply the red, green, and blue series emitters. Reportedly, to adopt the new display material, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will feature COE technology. It will be interesting to see exactly how convenient the latest M14 material will be for the Galaxy S26 Ultra and what new display upgrades it will deliver.
