One UI 8.5 may bring changes to Samsung’s My Files app

Samsung’s next major upgrade, the One UI 8.5, is already in the works, while the audience has recently caught up with the leak suggesting an all-new look for the Settings app UI. Another leak apparently claims that Samsung is working on bringing a refreshed version of the My Files app.

With the courtesy of the leaked One UI 8.5 build, it is certainly revealed that Samsung’s My Files app is changing, suggesting a refreshed overhaul of the app. (via SammyGuru).

To begin with, the topmost categories are placed inside a circular container, replacing the pill-shaped buttons that arrived with One UI 8.0. Recent files and downloads cards also receive a new look that matches the new style. Other changes include the internal storage getting a dedicated category; however, it only displays the percentage instead of showing the exact amount of filled-up space.

With One UI 8.5, the search bar shifts to the bottom for easier yet convenient navigation, allowing users to operate their phone one-handedly. Lastly, coming to the folder category, the folder icons are yellow in color again, ditching previous options of blue/gray hints.

Other than that, previously, the leaked One UI 8.5 firmware suggested that Samsung is looking towards providing a significant look to the Settings app UI. Well, it’s important that the recent leak regarding the My Files app overhaul with One UI 8.5 still remains confined for internal development and is not confirmed to be coming officially, as an official confirmation from Samsung still awaits.
