Samsung seems to be introducing some significant yet exceptional changes with the upcoming One UI 8.5 version, which will be powered by Android 16. In the recent past, the Galaxy audience has been overwhelmed with the leaks and rumors regarding the upcoming OS; a new report highlighted the addition of an AI-powered connectivity feature.
It looks like Samsung is shifting its focus to offering a more seamless and efficient connectivity experience to the Galaxy community.
Therefore, according to a new report, One UI 8.5 will basically add two new AI-powered features that will apparently enhance connectivity, allowing Galaxy smartphones to automatically switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data.
First up is Intelligent Link Assessment, a feature that can easily detect the quality of Wi-Fi connectivity using AI, including the speed, latency, and network stability, to determine whether to stay connected or switch to the mobile network.
Other than that, the One UI 8.5 build further mentioned another option, the Intelligent Network Switch. This feature offers a little extra customization by learning the history of areas where the phone automatically switched between Wi-Fi and mobile network in the past, allowing users to have a seamless connection even in those places where users struggled for connectivity.
Other than that, the latest One UI 8.5 code further adds a new Realtime Data Priority Mode option within the Wi-Fi settings, which will analyze and prioritize video calling and realtime gaming data over the background data usage, thus limiting the data consumption of background apps.
Well, Samsung is yet to make any official confirmation regarding One UI 8.5 version, with the increasing leaks certainly suggest that the latest build is already under development and appears to take a promising and more upgraded approach.
