Exynos 2600 appeared on Geekbench listing, revealing shocking performance

Samsung is setting up to launch its in-house flagship Exynos 2600 chipset; meanwhile, its new Geekbench scores surprised the tech giants, as the result is below expectations.

Under the hood, Samsung is developing its next-generation Exynos 2600 chipset, which is expected to be introduced soon.

In a few recent months, leaks and reports regarding the Exynos 2600’s performance and launch have been blowing in the market, according to which the chipset has matched the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 performance, promising 5x faster AI processing and more impressive capabilities.

A few weeks back, it was also reported that Samsung had started the Exynos 2600 mass production. Initially, it was highly anticipated that the company would power the standard and plus variants of the Galaxy S26 series with the in-house Exynos 2600 chipset at least in selected markets.

However, a recent report also suggests that since the internal testing results of the Exynos 2600 are more impressive than Apple’s A19 Pro, powering the iPhone 17 Pro Max, in terms of NPU performance by over six times, and CPU delivers a 14% higher multi-core performance, while outperforms the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Elite by about 30%, Samsung is considering powering the Galaxy S26 Ultra with Exynos 2600 in Korea and Asia.

Meanwhile, the chipset has now appeared on the Geekbench listing, according to which the single-core score is 3,047, while the multi-core score is 10,025. Noticeably, these scores are quite lower than the 3,309 and 11,256 points of the August test period. Unfortunately, this makes the overall performance of the Exynos 2600 fall below.  On the rivalry side, the Snapdragon 8 Elite scored 3,186 and 10,042 points under the same test conditions.

The reason behind these scores may be due to the reduced CPU clock speed in the new test version. However, the current benchmark scores are based on the test version, and Samsung is expected to refine the chip before introducing it to the Galaxy S26 series.
