Samsung may hike the Galaxy S26 series price due to soaring memory chip costs

Samsung is now expected to hike the price of the Galaxy S26 series, as DRAM prices continue to climb due to a massive increase in AI-driven demand.

Initially, the Korean tech giant was supposed to launch the Galaxy S26 series sometime in early Q1 2026; however, it’s not the case anymore since a few recent reports revealed that the launch timeline has been shifted to March 2026. Meanwhile, a new report from a reliable source revealed that memory semiconductors are significantly more expensive, with little expectation of price stabilization anytime soon.

According to the report, due to an increase in the memory chip price, the company is considering increasing the price of many of its future products, including smartphones, and the Galaxy S26 series is next in the lineup to arrive.

Noticeably, Samsung is not the only brand that is expected to hike the price, but many other tech brands are also considering doing the same.

Samsung’s semiconductor and smartphone divisions are not dependent on any other business units, as they have a buy-sell relationship, so the smartphone unit may not be able to negotiate the DRAM price enough. However, currently, there’s no exact information regarding how much the brand will hike the prices, but it will be interesting to see whether the device will be worth the price.
