Will the Galaxy Z Tri-Fold be Samsung’s most scantly available foldable?
Samsung already unveiled its first Galaxy Z Tri-Fold, but it’s not considering producing enough units of the device, which would make it one of the company’s rarest phones.
Last month, during the APEC 2025 summit, Samsung officially introduced its Galaxy Z TriFold foldable smartphone. Immediately after the launch, the device appeared on the Bluetooth SIG certifications, listed under several model numbers for different markets, including China, Korea, and the US. This suggests that the device will be available in these regions.
Meanwhile, a new report from the reliable blog, TheElec, revealed that despite the launch of Galaxy Tri-Fold in only a few markets, Samsung is not considering producing enough units of the device.
According to the report, the company has so far produced only 20,000 to 30,000 units of the Galaxy Z TriFold, which seems a quite lower amount than initially thought. Apart from this, the supply chain sources are also unsure whether the Korean tech giant will order more parts. Another supplier revealed that Samsung is expected to manufacture more units only if the demand is high enough.
Comparing the 20,000 to 30,000 units target to the mobile market is very small. Noticeably, if the company decides against producing more units, the Galaxy Z TriFold could very well become a rare commodity. However, it will be interesting to see whether Samsung will extend the Galaxy Z TriFold production or stick to the reported (20,000 to 30,000) target.
