Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 Series has been continuously in the news for quite some time now, where it appears that the entire spotlight has recently shifted towards the Ultra model, in particular. Meanwhile, a latest report reveals some new camera improvements are being prepared for the non-Ultra models.
Well, initially, the reports apparently shed light on a massive camera upgrade for the Galaxy S26 and S26+ units, where it was noted that the models will perhaps feature a 50MP telephoto camera.
Now, a latest report from SmartPrix elaborates that this could change, anyway! It appears that Samsung is planning to bring the non-Ultra models with the same 12MP Sony IMX564 Ultra Wide sensor as their predecessors, and at the same time, the latest leaked Galaxy S26 firmware further reveals that the company is choosing to switch to a new camera sensor, a 50MP primary Samsung ISOCELL S5KGNG camera.
Other than that, Samsung also seems to be finally dropping the 10MP Samsung ISOCELL S5K3K1 Telephoto camera; instead, it is preparing to equip a newer 12MP Samsung ISOCELL S5K3LD telephoto camera, which could possibly be for improving image quality due to higher picture resolution.
Also, the leak further suggested that the Galaxy S26 and S26+ are supposed to feature 4300mAh and 4900mAh battery capacities, respectively.
Well, this is again just another leak; it’s better to wait for the official confirmation from Samsung. Nevertheless, a previous report claimed that the Galaxy S26+ model is supposed to be replaced with a slimmer S26 Edge, but the company dropped the plan due to the pitiful sales of the Galaxy S25 Edge.
Also, Samsung is finally back on track to launch its newer flagships, the Galaxy S26 series, where the models will be arriving at the same launch timeline of January 2026.
