Samsung’s fan community is already expecting very high from the upcoming Galaxy S26 series; meanwhile, a new report revealed that the company is focusing on keeping prices flat rather than chasing extreme thinness.
Samsung is actively working on its Galaxy S26 series, which will include at least three models: Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. The company is expected to launch the series sometime in late January 2026.
According to the recent report, Samsung will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for the Galaxy S26 Ultra globally, while the Standard & Plus variants will be equipped with the in-house Exynos 2600 chipset.
Coming to the latest report via Jukanlosreve, on X, Samsung is now shifting its focus to keeping the prices of these models flat rather than chasing extreme thinness, unlike this year’s Galaxy S25 series. The new report says that the company is considering the Galaxy S26 series at the same prices as the Galaxy S25 lineup. This means that the Galaxy S26 (base) could cost $799, the same price as the Galaxy S25, and is also identical to Apple’s pricing for the iPhone 17.
The report says that Samsung had nearly confirmed the 6.9mm measurement in thickness for the Galaxy S26 model, which makes it 0.3mm off than its predecessor.
Initially, it was reported that the company is boosting the battery capacity of the base model from 4,000mAh on the Galaxy S25 to 4,9000mAh; however, it’s not the case anymore, since the new report revealed that the target has been dialed back to 4,300mAh, still an improvement but far less ambitious. However, the report hasn’t been revealed by any authentic or official source; it remains to be seen whether the leaked report will come true.
