Samsung partners with Nota AI to increase AI power for Exynos chipset

Samsung took a major step to strengthen the on-device AI capabilities for its Galaxy smartphones by partnering with Nota AI to provide AI model optimization technology in its latest application processor, Exynos 2500.

A new report from a Korean media revealed that Nota AI has just confirmed that it has signed a cooperation agreement with Samsung to offer an AI model optimization technology for Exynos 2500.

The key aim behind this collaboration is to integrate core technology into Exynos AI Studio, which is a toolkit for developers to help in fine-tuning AI models to run directly on Exynos chips with high-end performance and lower power consumption.

Reportedly, with Nota AI’s technology integrated, model optimization efficiency and performance have been upgraded, and enhanced on-device AI experiences on smartphones are now possible without requiring cloud consolidation.

Apart from Samsung, Nota AI has also attracted investment from several major corporations in Korea, including LG, Naver D2SF, and Kakao, from the early stages, suggesting that the domestic AI ecosystem is growing expeditiously and playing a crucial role in Samsung’s technology strategy.

Chae Myeong-su, CEO of Nota AI, said, “Collaboration with Samsung Electronics is a meaningful case in which Nota AI’s optimization technology has been applied to and commercialized in global consumer products,” and added, “We implemented high-performance Generative AI on-device through the organic combination of AI Semiconductor and software.”
