One UI 8.5 Early Build Surfaces on Galaxy S24 Ultra

Samsung is actively working on its next software interaction, One UI 8.5, which is anticipated to bring enhanced UI, notable customizations, and upgraded features. Meanwhile, this upcoming software version has now appeared running on the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

It’s already confirmed that the stable version of the One UI 8.5 will be introduced on the Galaxy S26 series next year. A few recent reports have already reported that Samsung is all set to start the One UI 8.5 beta program initially for the Galaxy S25 series by the end of December 2025.

Meanwhile, SamMobile has now shared a video showing the first look at the One UI 8.5 running on the Galaxy S24 Ultra; however, the video is based on an internal beta build of the software. Samsung brings several customization options to the Galaxy S24 Ultra with One UI 8.5, as you can now add or remove any quick setting toggle, change the position and size of controls, and even make some of them vertical.

A notable thing is that with the One UI 8.5, you can now save photos and videos to external storage. The Settings app is now arranged more clearly, as there are no sub-section labels.

The search bar is now appearing in a pill-shaped line figure and shifted to the bottom, and the Battery and Device Care sections have also gotten design changes to make the UI appear more concise and visually appealing.

Stocks apps have also been revamped, as they are now a pill-shaped compact tab bar design. Samsung placed the search button towards the top right corner of the screen in all the stock apps. However, all stock apps have yet to receive the design change.
