Samsung’s next major software, the One UI 8.5, which is expected to debut with the upcoming Galaxy S26 series, is perhaps shaping itself into the biggest update than the One UI 7 or One UI 8.0. While a host of leaks have already clarified the crystal clear picture of the software, a new report has another good news for fans, as the update has an interesting twist for the Quick panel or the control center!
Until now, Samsung has apparently offered the capability to customize the Galaxy’s Quick panel with One UI 8.0, albeit to only a limited extent.
Meanwhile, a fresh report from Technobuzz via the tipster, CID, on X, revealed an interesting factor of the Quick panel that seems to be arriving with the upcoming One UI 8.5 version.
The tipster posted a short video, which showcases a demo of the leaked One UI 8.5 firmware, where it can be seen that with the upcoming software, Galaxy phone owners will be able to customize their Quick panel or control center completely, superior to the One UI 8.0 update. This is said to be the biggest enhancement ever to control panels and apps.
Specifically, previously, it was reported that Samsung is probably working on bringing the ability to resize the Quick panel tiles with the One UI 8.5, and now, the leak is appearing to be true, as the latest video significantly showcases that the tiles in the control center are easily resizable and can be seamlessly moved from one place to another according to the users’ preference and convenience.
In other words, with One UI 8.5, Samsung is focusing on bringing a modern UI for the quick panel, featuring smarter connectivity toggles such as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, smoother animations with fully-customizable layouts for all the tiles present in the control center.
Not only is the software going to allow users to resize all the tiles, but also, the video also showcases how refined the newest Quick panel looks, providing a proper modular redesign that significantly matches the redesigned aesthetic vision of Samsung’s One UI. Nevertheless, Samsung is expected to begin the most-awaited One UI 8.5 beta program for the Galaxy S25 series.
