Samsung confirms the Galaxy S26 series will run One UI 8.5, out of the box

Samsung is highly anticipated to launch the Galaxy S26 series next month at the Unpacked event, and ahead of the launch, it officially confirmed that the series will run One UI 8.5 out of the box.

Samsung recently opened the One UI 8.5 beta program for the Galaxy S25 series in select regions, including the US, UK, Korea, and Germany, and will expand it to more eligible countries in the near future.

Up to date, it was expected that the company would introduce the stable One UI 8.5 version on the next-generation Galaxy S26 series, which will include three models: Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. Now, the company has officially confirmed via a newsroom post that these upcoming models will ship with One UI 8.5 pre-installed.

Samsung stated that, “The official version of ‘One UI 8.5’ will be installed on the Galaxy S series to be released in the first half of next year, and will be sequentially applied to existing Galaxy devices thereafter.”

With the One UI 8.5 iteration, Samsung is offering several tweaks, UI enhancements, smarter AI tools, new features, and notable customization options. According to a previous report, Samsung is expected to release the One UI 8.5 beta 2 by the end of this month, on December 22; however, the official timeline for the next beta updates has yet to be revealed.
