Samsung is focusing on the distribution of the ongoing December 2025 security update for its Galaxy phones and tablets; meanwhile, after the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, the company is starting to expand the latest update for the previous generation Galaxy Z Fold 6 as well as Flip 6 models.
The list keeps growing as Samsung has just added the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 units, updating to a new software that significantly integrates the December 2025 security update, however, the update for the folding phones is limited to the company’s home country, South Korea, at least for now, and is expected to expand to even more countries, including the US in the coming weeks.
Specifically, the latest firmware for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 as well as the Flip 6 has been recognized with the F956NKSS2CYKE and F741NKSS2CYKE version numbers, respectively.
Meanwhile, the update is just a minor security patch, which is a part of Samsung’s monthly security maintenance release that brings a handful of fixes for all the security vulnerabilities and focuses on improving the device’s overall security, core functionality, and efficiency in order to provide a secure user experience, while also protecting the device against external threats.
At the same time, the update further brings certain performance optimizations and adds stability to the entire system behavior that eventually leads to a smoother, stable, and optimized experience for the users.
In addition to that, Samsung has also opened the One UI 8.5 beta program for the Galaxy S25 series, which is currently limited to four out of six countries, including South Korea, the US, Germany, and the UK. It’s expected that India and Poland will join the latest beta program super soon, probably following the timeline of December 22nd.
