Samsung Releases One UI 8.5 Beta 2 for Galaxy S24 Series

Samsung has pushed out the second beta build of One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy S24 series, moving the update cycle forward after opening the program last month.

The rollout is currently live in India and South Korea. If you are on the S24 in India, the update weighs around 900MB and carries firmware version S92*BXXU5ZZD5. To grab it, head to Settings, then Software Update, and tap Download and Install.

This beta brings nine changes in total, mirroring what Samsung already delivered in One UI 8.5 Beta 9 for the Galaxy S25 series. The most notable addition is AirDrop compatibility with Apple devices through Quickshare, which has been a long-requested feature for Android users who frequently swap files with iPhone owners.

Three new camera filters also arrive with this build: Classic Film, Pop Film, and Blanc. Beyond that, the update is largely a bug-fixing release. Samsung has addressed a Bluetooth disconnection issue that caused periodic drops and reconnects, fixed notification cards getting clipped at the top, and resolved a screen flicker problem that appeared during dual recording when changing zoom levels. A handful of other fixes cover gallery stuttering, incorrect AOD time display, notification card rotation behavior, and a brief lock screen flash during incoming calls.

The April 2026 security patch is also included, patching 47 vulnerabilities.

With Beta 2 now out for the S24 series and the S23 series still on its first build, Samsung appears to be staggering these rollouts deliberately as it works toward a stable release.
