Samsung has retained its top spot when it comes to more advanced innovations for its products, be it its smartphones or its stunning smart homes appliances. Meanwhile, right after the previous announcement, Samsung is looking towards integrating ads on its smart refrigerators, beginning next month.
As it was already announced that Samsung will be rolling out a new software update for the Family Hub refrigerators in the US as a part of a Pilot Program, bringing ads to its fridge as well.
Meanwhile, according to a new report from The Verge via Android Police, Samsung is already releasing a fresh update, which is only meant for its smart fridges having displays 21 inches or larger.
For now, the Pilot Program that initiates ads on smart refrigerators is limited to only certain fridges that are a part of Samsung’s Family Hub models sold in the US.
Obviously, not just it, the software update for Samsung Family Hub refrigerators further includes a more unified user experience across connected screens, smarter food tracking with AI Vision inside refrigerators to identify 37 fresh food items while also suggesting labeling of up to 50 packaged food items that have been frequently placed in the fridge; personalized Intelligence for everyone; new Widget Pilot for Cover Screen themes; and Advanced Security that works silently in the background that integrates Samsung’s powerful Knox security chain.

However, most of the audience will not like this change at all, but there is some good news as well, where Samsung is supposed to offer the ability to turn off the ads when users want to skip them.

At the same time, Samsung doesn’t seem to have played it safe, as the smart refrigerators are already expensive, at this point, customers could choose one over affordable non-connected models instead of one from the Family Hub.
