South Korean Giant Integrates Samsung Pay and Samsung Pass
Samsung has announced recently, on June 9th, that it will integrate Spay & Spass for a more user-friendly and more convenient experience. The merger will start first in-home the country of S.Korea, and then it will move to other regions.
Samsung informed that this facility would only be available for Samsung Pay users on Android 9.0 Pie or higher devices.
Following are the benefit that Samsung informed from its 4 major Digital services/Functions:
- Digital Key Function: If the consumer uses the Samsung smart things app and a lock linked with it, then spay enables the user to lock/unlock the door without using a physical key.
It will provide easy access to vehicles, houses, apartments, etc.
Users can also share this virtual key with friends, family, or acquaintances.
However, this service will be limited by the availability of supported vehicles and smartphone terminals, which are subject to change.
- Digital Ticket and Assets Management: Samsung pay will store your Air, Cinema and other supported digital services tickets.
In the upcoming days, Samsung has planned that Samsung Pay will provide an update that will allow users to store boarding passes issued by airlines and various tickets such as movies, performances, and sports at their convenience digitally. It includes services such as flight boarding, movies, and performance schedules.
Currently, Korean Air, Jin Air, and Jeju Air will support this service.
For cinema & entertainment, Megabox, Lotte Cinema, and Ticket Link are current partners as ticket vendors.
Each ticket vendor’s features and service start times may vary depending on availability, advisory was issued by Samsung.
Samsung Pay Coupons is also a service that will store credit in digital coupons for several supported vendors. However, these services’ start times and functionality and the issuer are subject to change according to the situation.
- Samsung Pay’s Digital Asset Inquiry Function: This function will provide storing and transactions of virtual currencies, such as Korbit, Coinone, and Bithumb, all with real-time confirmation of the linked Digital assets.
- Samsung Knox: It is a digital security service that protects from external threats like hacking, remote control access, theft, and/or access to personal info, etc. Samsung informed that in addition to these security measures and services, the sensitive personal information is also stored in a separate secure area within the device so that users can use it with confidence.
