Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra has outsold the Galaxy Note series’ last 5 years’ models and individual sales. The known tipster Ice universe on Weibo, also known as Sina Weibo, a Chinese microblogging website, suggests that the Galaxy S22 Ultra has outsold the Galaxy Note series’ last 5 years’ models and individual sales.

The device garnered 10.9 million unit sales, compared to Galaxy Note 8, which sold over 10 million units in the first year.

If we compare this to the Note series, then:

  • Note 9 garnered 9.6 million, with the Note 10 series stooping to 9.5 million sales.
  • 2020’s Galaxy Note 20 series proved to be a low point with just 7.5 million units sold.
  • Samsung’s net sales were over 50 million Galaxy Note devices between 2011 and 2013, comprising mainly Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy Note 3.

Note Smartphones’ USP was the stylus that gathered the sales, but it was the Galaxy Note 8 which raised the bar for Samsung’s S Pen stylus series with more than 10 million units sold.

After the Note 7 battery explosion in 2017, it was a low phase, but Samsung leaped back and upgraded to the Note 8 version with extensive quality testing measures.

Now let’s talk about the Galaxy S22 Ultra, which was recently granted the spiritual successor to the Note series. While the Galaxy S21 Ultra was the first to introduce the stylus in the series, the Galaxy Note series still went on, with the last being the Note 20 series, released in August 2020.

Recently on 30th June, Samsung’s TM Roh, President & Head of MX Business, confirmed that Samsung would not continue the Galaxy Note series anymore.

It was already in speculations when the Galaxy S22 ultra arrived with the stylus; the Note is gone. The work was done when TM Roh briefed that “the Galaxy Note will come in the form of S Ultra every year starting this year.”

The device sold surprisingly well, with the ultra-premium price segment of $1199.99 as a starting price; the Galaxy S22 Ultra also became the most sold flagship android smartphone.

Samsung also dropped the price of the Galaxy S22 Ultra by $125 from its launching price of $1,400 in June of this year.

The device comes with a 6.8-inch 2X AMOLED panel that has a 120Hz refresh rate and a QHD resolution and received positive feedback all around the world.
