The One UI 5 stable release, which is based on Android 13, is getting closer, specifically for the Samsung Galaxy S22 series. We anticipate the launch in a few days as a result of the recently announced update to Good Lock and the arrival of the first modules that support the new version.

The company has released the Android 13 fifth beta version for the Samsung Galaxy S22 series. It will undoubtedly be the first to receive the One UI 5 based on Android 13, but the Samsung Galaxy S21 (which just welcomed the third) and other devices (folding and not) should follow. Updates to Good Lock and a few modules bring the stable version’s release even closer.

One UI 5 is now supported by several functionalities. It begins with QuickStar and NotiStar, two modules made for customizing the status bar and fast settings panel, as well as for more sophisticated notification handling, as stated on the official South Korean Samsung Community. At the same time, Good Lock welcomes release 2.2.04.46, the first app updates to version 6.1.05.20 and the second to version 5.1.08.00.

Since we were compelled to translate from Korean, the details of the news are unclear, but the Community moderator claims that Good Lock 2.2.04.46 introduces bugfixes and interface improvements as well as a choice to rearrange the tabs at the bottom of the screen and a new parental control feature (on the Galaxy Store, where the update is already available, these last two modules are available).

The One UI 5 is undoubtedly supported by both QuickStar (6.1.05.20) and NotiStar (5.1.08.00), but the former also provides a second clock and the option to show the date in the status bar (only on the new One UI). More apps will be updated soon, including NavStar, Home Up, ClockFace, and KeysCafe. Support for the One UI 5 by the latter (and not only) will come in the coming days, around October 24, 2022: will this be the release date of Android 13 for the Samsung Galaxy S22 series? If not, we still expect a very close date.
