Verizon Galaxy S10 getting December 2022 update in the US

The Galaxy S10 series is now receiving a new security update in the form of a December 2022 patch. According to the information, the update is now receiving the update in the US on the Verizon network. However, last week the device has already updated via Xfinity and Comcast networks.

As of now, the Carrier locked variant of the Galaxy S10 device is now receiving the December 2022 security patch, the update is currently rolled out on Verizon’s network, and it comes with a new firmware version number G973USQS8IVL2, G975USQS8IVL2 and G970USQS8IVL2 for the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, and Galaxy S10e respectively. It is also worth noticing that the 5G variant of the Galaxy S10 is also receiving the same update with version number G977UVRSAHVL3.

The December 2022 security update doesn’t bring any features. It is a regular monthly update that Samsung provides for its Galaxy devices. As the name suggests, the update comes with a lot of fixes that resolve the issues related to security.

According to Samsung’s official documentation, the latest security update includes 93 patches which are added by Samsung and Google both. 80 patches of them were included by Google, which fixes the problems related to the Android OS, and the other 13 patches were added by Samsung to improve the overall security of its Galaxy devices.

Galaxy S10 device was Samsung’s flagship device in 2019, the device comes with Android 9 on board, and now the device has upgraded to Android 12 and is limited to it, but the device is still eligible for security updates, which means we will see more firmware update in the future.
