As Samsung continues expanding its smartphone market presence, it has also been looking for ways to improve its after-sales customer service. This includes not just releasing regular updates but also providing timely security patches. On January 2023, Samsung rolled out the latest security patch for Galaxy S21 FE, Galaxy Note 20 5G, Note 20 Ultra 5G, and Galaxy A50. The update is called the January 2023 Security Maintenance Release (SMR), and it includes various improvements and fixes for the devices.

The January 2023 security patch for the Galaxy S21 FE and Galaxy A50 has been released in North American countries with G990EXXS3DWA6 and A505GUBS9CWA2, respectively. At the same time, the Galaxy Note 20 5G and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G are updated in Brazil with N98*BXXS5GWA8

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Camera Features

The update includes the latest security fixes from Google and Samsung. Over 50 Android OS vulnerabilities were marked as “High” in the January 2023 security patch changelog. Samsung also patched some issues with NFC, Secure Folder, and Samsung Knox. Samsung advises all users of these devices to install the latest security patch as soon as possible.

To install this update, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Your device will reboot and install the update automatically.
