SmartThings is a popular smart home platform developed by Samsung that allows users to control their connected devices from one hub. Today, the company has released an update for its Galaxy Watch, which includes new smart home controls. The update adds a SmartThings dashboard to the watch, allowing you to monitor and control your smart devices without ever having to take out your phone.

Galaxy Watch owners can now access SmartThings by swiping right from the watch face with the latest SmartThings update (version 1.1.08). In addition to air purifiers, thermostats, and blinds, SmartThings on Galaxy Watch will be able to control more devices with the update. In addition, users can still use their Galaxy Watch to control their home devices, including TVs, air conditioners, lights, speakers, and more, from anywhere and anytime.

Using this integration, Galaxy Watch users will be able to view live feeds from Nest and Ring cameras from their wrist in real time. The Ring camera integration is even more advanced, supporting two-way talking directly from the watch.

It seems Samsung’s phrasing indicates that this experience will only be available on Wear OS-based Galaxy Watch models, including the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5.
