Verizon Galaxy A53 5G and Galaxy S20 FE 5G get January 2023 update in the USA

As you know, Samsung is currently pushing new firmware updates for its Galaxy devices, which deal with the device’s security. The Korean giant has distributed the latest security update to most of the devices till now, but as usual, the devices in the US market haven’t got the update at the same time.

Verizon rolled out January 2023 update for Galaxy A53 5G and S20 FE 5G in the US

For instance, the Galaxy A53 5G device and Galaxy S20 FE 5G devices are now grabbing the January 2023 security patch. The same devices have received the update way before in other regions. The carrier-locked variants of both devices are getting the new security update affiliated with the Verizon network.

Users who own these devices can identify the latest firmware version number A536VSQS4BWA5 and G781VSQS7GWA1 for Galaxy A53 5G and Galaxy S20 FE 5G, respectively. Both devices have already grabbed the OneUI 5.0 update based on Android 13.

According to the changelog, the update does not bring any new features, but it includes up-to-date security patches for your Galaxy device with January 2023 patch level.

The January 2023 security update is a type of monthly security update which Google provides to fix the known issues that strengthen the security of the device. If we talk about the update in detail, it has several fixes, which Google and Samsung include. In detail, there are 52 patches added by Google which are marked as High priority. Along with these, Samsung has also included 20 other patches which are specially designed for its Galaxy devices.
