Samsung has started pushing out the latest January 2023 security updates to its devices from the start of the month, and now the company added the Galaxy S21 series to that list for the United States. According to reports, the latest update is already rolling out in the US, bringing a number of bug fixes and improvements.

The Android January 2023 update comes shortly after Samsung pushed out a security patch for the latest flagship series devices, though this one appears to be more substantial. It includes a range of optimizations for performance, as well as fixes for known exploits and vulnerabilities.

The Galaxy S21 series gets the January 2023 security update in the US, which includes fixes over 50 Android OS vulnerabilities that were marked as “High” in the January 2023 security patch changelog. Samsung also patched some issues with NFC, Secure Folder, and Samsung Knox. Samsung advises all users of these devices to install the latest security patch as soon as possible, information leakage and elevation of privilege vulnerabilities.

The update is available for both carrier-locked and unlocked models of the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra comes with version G99*U1UES5DWA2. At the same time, the carrier-locked models of these devices have firmware version G99*USQS5DWA5. We recommend that all users install this update as soon as possible to keep their devices safe and secure.
