Canadian Galaxy Watch 5 owners get Camera Zoom controller feature

Usually, Samsung expands the new updates with taking some time, but, observing from a few days, and it is looking like the company has changed its strategy and rolling out updates in bulk; the same is happening with the latest January 2023 update, which is initially served for Galaxy Watch 5 series devices in the US and Korea, later the update is expanded to Galaxy Watch 4 series, and now it has come to Canada users.

As of now, users who own Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro in Canada can install the latest update. It is also worth noticing that update is currently limited to the Bluetooth variant watches, which can be identified by the version number R910XXU1AWA3 and R915XXU1AWA3, respectively. The update will be available for the other variants in the next few days.

New camera controller feature

The Galaxy Watch 4 update has been released in Canada. The update brings some new features and improvements. The main highlighted feature is the camera controller, which enhances the ability of the watch, it allows you to control your connected device camera through the watch, and you can easily get camera zoom and click photos by simply tapping on the watch screen.

Notability, the camera controller feature only works on flagship smartphones which launched after Galaxy S20 or Z Flip devices and are running on One UI 5.1. However, Samsung hasn’t released the One UI 5.1 update on any device yet. But it will be the first debut in Galaxy S23 devices which will be launched in the Galaxy Unpacked event in February 2023, and then the update will be available for other Galaxy devices.
