While many people eagerly await the release of the Samsung Galaxy S22 series, the current iteration of the flagship device is still receiving security updates. Today, Samsung is rolling out a new January 2023 security patch to carrier-locked Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Galaxy S22 Ultra in the US. This update will fix a variety of issues, as well as add some features to enhance user experience.

The update includes the January 2023 update, which includes fixes over 50 Android OS vulnerabilities that were marked as “High” in the January 2023 security patch changelog. Samsung also patched some issues with NFC, Secure Folder, and Samsung Knox. Samsung advises all users of these devices to install the latest security patch as soon as possible, information leakage and elevation of privilege vulnerabilities. Other fixes include a number of improvements to the overall stability and performance of the device.

The January security update is currently rolling out to carrier-locked by Xinfinty Galaxy S22 series in the US. It carries firmware version S90*USQS2BWA2. If you have a carrier-locked Galaxy S series device, be sure to check for the update in your device’s Settings app.
